What is immunology?
Immunology is the study and treatment of the body’s defence against infection and illness.
This clinic takes place each Wednesday.
The team consists of:
- Consultant immunologist
- Immunology specialist nurse
You may be seen by both the consultant and specialist nurse.
What to bring to clinic?
- A list of all your medication. We need to know the names, strength and amount of medication you take each day
- A sample of urine in a clean container. You can get a urine specimen pot from your GP’s surgery
You may also like to write down any questions you have and bring with you to your appointment.
If needed you may bring a relative or friend to the appointment.
At your appointment
When you attend the clinic, you may have a blood test. You might also have other investigations such as an X-ray.
The specialist nurse will be able to explain any treatment plans and provide any information needed.
