9am – 4pm (Monday to Friday)

Our team of experienced and highly-skilled hearing professionals will treat you with care and understanding and will pay particular attention to your individual hearing needs.

Mission:

To deliver high-standard evidence-based care that is individualised through shared decision-making, provided by a team of dedicated professionals.

Vision:

Where everyone is heard.

Values:

Empowering - We enable patients to make informed choices about their care.

Listening - We actively listen to achieve the needs of patients and colleagues.

Compassion -We treat patients with kindness and consideration.

Teamwork - We work together to achieve success.

We provide hearing aid batteries and accessories only to patients known to us.

We are still operating a ‘remote-first’ service and therefore will ask all patients to send their hearing aid(s) for repair in the post, rather than offering a face-to-face service for this part of our services.

If you are not sure if your hearing aid is working and would like to check it, please check the information leaflets and videos below which provide basic hearing aid maintenance.

If you have changed the tube and replaced the battery and the hearing aid still isn’t working, the quickest way to get it repaired is to post or drop it in to us at Gloucestershire Royal or Cheltenham General Hospital. Please include your contact details and the problem and we will repair and send back to you.

Note: We may not have capacity to repair while you wait. GDA Hearing Aid Clinics may also be able to help basic check and replace consumables (tubing).

Alternatively, please post your hearing aids to:

Gloucester and Cheltenham Hearing Services
Gloucestershire Royal Hospital
Audiology Department
Great Western Road
Gloucester
GL1 3NN

Hearing aid batteries and tubing

If you are a current patient who is known to our service, you can order

  • new or spare tubing
  • new hearing aid batteries

You can also contact us on 0300 422 6919 or email ghn-tr.hearing.services@nhs.net to do this.

Posting items for repair

If you need to post your hearing aid for a service or repair, please ensure you have paid the correct postage.

Battery Collection Centres

Find a list of locations throughout Gloucestershire where you can collect hearing aid batteries free of charge. You will need your brown battery book in order to do this. If you are not able to attend in person someone else can collect these on your behalf as long as they present the battery book.

If this is not possible, please complete this form and we will endeavour to send them out to you in the post. Please be aware that there will be a delay in supplying batteries this way.

How do I get an appointment with a specialist?

If you are worried about your hearing and think you need some expert advice, please speak to your GP and ask them to refer you to an audiologist at one of our specialist clinics.
