Nail changes
Some treatments can discolour the nails on your hands and feet. Your nails may also become more brittle.
Nail care advice
- Use an emery board instead of cutting your nails
- Consider a strengthening nail cream, hand cream or cuticle cream. Nail oils have limited evidence.
- Avoid wearing false nails and having pedicures
- Some sources advise painting nails with a dark or clear varnish to help to protect them. However, this has no evidence and can be harmful.
- Wear gloves when gardening or washing up.
- Drinking plenty of water can also help keep nails healthy
