Attending your cancer service appointment
You have been referred to Hospital because your symptoms or test results show that you may need further investigation by a specialist. On this page you will find information and videos that may help during your visit.
Being referred to our team
If you are referred on a urgent suspected cancer pathway [previously known as 2 week wait (2ww)] your medical team will be trying to assess several things at once:
- Whether you do or do not have cancer
- If you are found to have a cancer we will investigate what type of cancer it is and what treatment is it most likely to respond to
- Where it is? i.e. has the cancer spread anywhere else?
- Will you be fit enough to withstand cancer treatments
- What are your wishes and priorities?
